About IM Life

Live · Love · Learn

Our story

Charity has always been important to our founder, Irene Malin, and her family. She created IM Life in 2008 in Madagascar and Cameroon. In the UK it first operated under a small charity constitution, and on 5 April 2019 it was registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (charity no. 1182840).

Our purpose

Our charitable object is to relieve poverty by providing food, basic hygiene supplies, education materials, training and guidance and other support, with a particular focus on sub-Saharan Africa, especially Cameroon, Liberia and Madagascar. As well as taking direct action, we support other relevant charities. IM Life is also active in the UK.

Charities we have supported

  • The Clar Hope Foundation, founded by the First Lady of Liberia
  • Edna Adan Hospital Foundation, Somaliland, which works to improve health care and quality of life for women and children
  • African Revival, a UK charity that gives children in sub-Saharan Africa access to quality education
  • International Harbor (USA), which fights human trafficking
  • The Royal British Legion

Sponsors and supporters

IM Life is supported financially and technically by individuals and organisations in the UK and beyond.
